Two watchmen were wounded after unknown gunmen fired at them outside the Abuksa police station in Fayoum late Friday.
The two security agents exchanged fire with the assailants before sustaining their injuries.
Police and army facilities have witnessed mainly fatal attacks since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Authorities blame Morsi’s outlawed Muslim Brotherhood for masterminding the attacks that have left hundreds of police and army officers dead.
