UK’s PFA chooses team of the year final list, excluding Mo Salah

The UK’s Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has excluded Liverpool striker Mohammed Salah from the PFA team of the year for 2017-2018 despite that he broke a league record upon scoring 32 out of the 44 goals scored throughout the season.

PFA published on social media the names of the team players, listed in the following paragraphs:

Manchester City’s goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, four defenders including Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk and Andrew Robertson, and Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte.

The midfielders included Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Manchester City’s Fernandinho and Bernando Silva.

The strikers were Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.

Numerous Reds fans were disappointed with Salah’s name not being on the list.

“No Salah for PFA Player of The Year loool,” one fan tweeted, as another said:  “A certain Eden Hazard is on the list for the PFA player of the year, but there is no Salah, hmmm, what does that say?”

Another said that although his performance this season wasn’t as strong as last year, Salah played better than Mane, whose name was included on the list.

90min said that Salah is still one of the best players in the world even though he wasn’t on the list. The platform highlighted his goals scored under difficult circumstances. Thanks to Salah, who set Liverpool back on top of the league’s list, Liverpool is now likely to win the title for the first time in 29 years.
