In normal times, a bride from Sinai would spend a whole day at the hairstylist's and the ceremony never starts before 8 pm. But the curfew recently imposed for the peninsula now obliges families to throw their weddings during day time.
The curfew was imposed following the bloody attack on a security facility in North Sinai two weeks ago that killed 31 officers.
People of Arish now organize their weddings on two phases: the first held at any wedding hall, and the second is a limited family gathering at the home of the newly-wed.
Hammouda Abboud says he feels happy and different for holding his wedding at a sea-view hall surrounded by his family and friends despite the curfew which starts at 5 pm.
Though he understands the security situation and the need for the curfew, Abboud said it should better start after 5 pm, so that people could run their daily lives.
