Weather forecast: Light rain, cold weather expected in Cairo this week

Light rain is expected in Cairo until the end of the week and cold weather during daylight hours in the north and Lower Egypt, said Egyptian Meteorological Authority Chairman Ahmed Abdel Aal on al-Assema channel Sunday evening.

He warned that the weather will be colder in the rest of the country, denying that temperatures would reach frost.

Abdel Aal warned of mist that would affect visibility in the early morning.

The authority predicted fine weather from the north of the country to the northern regions of Upper Egypt, turning frosty at night in the same region aside from central Sinai.

Winds, mostly northwestern, will be active in the south of the country, turning dusty, while disturbing navigation in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.

Wave heights in the Mediterranean and Red seas are predicted between 1.5-2 meters and 3-3.5 meters respectively amid northwestern winds.
