Yemenis to require visas before arriving in Egypt so as to reduce infiltration of terrorists

Cairo airport authorities began to implement new procedures for Yemenis entering the country. They must now obtain visas and prior security approval before arriving in the country.

Airport security sources said that all airlines were informed of the new procedures, and that they will bear the cost if passengers have to be sent back to Yemen.

Thirty-five Yemenis have already been denied entry.

The sources added that the decision was taken to counter attempts by jihadist to infiltrate Egypt and support terrorists in Sinai in particular.

Airlines have cancelled several flights due to this decision, as the flights became economically unfeasible.
